Operating Systems No Longer Supported

As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 have reached end-of-life. Microsoft no longer supports these OSes. As such, OSSI no longer supports these operating systems. While our software will continue to install and upgrade on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, we will not provide technical support for these systems for versions beyond Intelli-Site v4.0.45.12.  All customers and integrators are strongly encouraged to migrate to Windows 10 or Windows 2016.

Overview

This article contains the release notes for Intelli-Site v4.2.8.8 The following sections describe the release in detail and provide late-breaking or other information that supplements the main documentation.

Upgrade Requirements

Because the database has been redesigned, the installer will only upgrade version 4.0.45.12 or later. Minor modifications to the database had been implemented before version 4.0.45.12. Those modifications must be applied to the existing database for the software upgrade to properly upgrade the database.

The process is:

  1. Upgrade to version 4.0.45.12
  2. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. The Engine performs the necessary modifications, not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started.
  3. Stop the Engine and close the Configuration Utility.
  4. Upgrade to the current version.
  5. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. As stated in step 2, the Engine performs the necessary database upgrade not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started as well.

NEW FEATURES

The following software features were added

  • Desktop Client 
    • Added ability to filter a Popup Tree View

The following Panels were added or upgraded:

  • ASSA ABLOY Aperio

RESOLVED ISSUES

The following issues affecting all products have been resolved:

  • Configuration Utility
    • Note: Do not start the Client Manager unless you absolutely need it. Only start it when redundant Engines are required and licensed. The Client Manager counts as a client in the license.
      This isn't new. It just bears repeating.
  • Desktop Client
    • Changes to Timecodes were not reflected in the Timecode Tree Control.
    • PCSC IQ Quick Config was not loading the Event Lockout properly.
    • Auto Speak of Operator Instructions were not checking routing levels.
  • Driver Specific
    • PCSC IQ: Ignore reflected packets.
    • MAC Driver: Ignore pins with non-numeric characters.
    • Compass Driver: Ignore pins with non-numeric characters.
    • Compass Driver: Error when trying to download elevator groups if no access level is assigned to the group.
    • Allen Bradley: Add ability to adjust the timeout.
  • General
    • Redundancy: Exceptions in the slave when adding a new personnel with a card.
    • Redundancy: If a client loses connection, the slave doesn't remove the session from its list.
    • Engine: TimerManager exception when a lot of timers are started at the same time.
    • TCP/IP Listener: Dead sockets are not cleaned up.

The following issues specific to Intelli-Site Lite have been resolved:
