Operating Systems No Longer Supported

As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 have reached end-of-life. Microsoft no longer supports these OSes. As such, OSSI no longer supports these operating systems. While our software will continue to install and upgrade on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, we will not provide technical support for these systems for versions beyond Intelli-Site v4.0.45.12.  All customers and integrators are strongly encouraged to migrate to Windows 10 or Windows 2016.

Overview

This article contains the release notes for Intelli-Site v4.2.13.21 The following sections describe the release in detail and provide late-breaking or other information that supplements the main documentation.

Upgrade Requirements

Because the database has been redesigned, the installer will only upgrade version 4.0.45.12 or later. Minor modifications to the database had been implemented before version 4.0.45.12. Those modifications must be applied to the existing database for the software upgrade to properly upgrade the database.

The process is:

  1. Upgrade to version 4.0.45.12
  2. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. The Engine performs the necessary modifications, not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started.
  3. Stop the Engine and close the Configuration Utility.
  4. Upgrade to the current version.
  5. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. As stated in step 2, the Engine performs the necessary database upgrade not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started as well.

NEW FEATURES

The following software features were added

  • Database
    • Implementation of History Data Archiving.
      • This feature archives excess history data to the backup location while preserving a user-specified number of weeks of history in the database for reporting. Archived data can be restored as needed. Please see the Intelli-Site 4.2 Users Guide, page 328, for more information.
  •  Documentation
    • Lots of updates to documentation to include all new features.
    • The Installation Guide, Quick Start Guide, and User's Guide have been separated into their own manuals.
    • Added Avigilon Control Center Panel Guide.
    • Added Centurion Elite Panel Guide.
  • General
    • N/A
  • Desktop Client 
    • Added Summary button to the Access Sets tab to show effective access.
    • Dragging a table node out will create a DB Grid Control and add all of the fields to the grid.
    • Added the ability to change the background color and column header text color on an IM Layout.
    • Added the name and ID of the screen the object is on in the title bar if the Debug Screen Object pop-up.
    • Resized the Parameters and Macros Grids to allow for more parameters visible.
  • Reports
    • Added a limit to the number of records that can be shown and a notice at the end of the report if exceeded.
      • Most reports are limited to 5000 records except the Master History report, which is limited to 1000.
      • When the maximum record count is exceeded, the final line of the report will report it and suggest refining your criteria.
    • New UI for Custom History Report parameters screen.

The following Panels were added or upgraded:

  • OSSI MAC
    •  Added "Other Points" tab to the Quick Config for renaming outputs, general points, and alarms.
  • Centurion Elite

RESOLVED ISSUES

The following issues affecting all products have been resolved:

  • Reports
    • N/A
  • Configuration Utility
    • Note: Do not start the Client Manager unless you absolutely need it. Only start it when redundant Engines are required and licensed. The Client Manager counts as a client in the license.
      This isn't new. It just bears repeating.
  • Desktop Client
    • Screen List: white background flash during refresh.
    • Screen List Control: Changing the rows or columns while editing a screen with the object causes an exception.
    • Unhandled exception when filtering a pop-up tree view for something not in the current tree view.
    • DB Grids: Required checkbox is not working.
    • DB Grids: RecordSave action yeilds an error if the grid is not in add or edit mode.
    • Access Managment View: Error when searching by activate or deactivate date.
    • Access Managment View: Error message when adding a card.
    • Access Managment View: Search function returns results that should not be visible when Filter by User Level is enabled.
    • Template Screen Object properties: Hover Text is not enabling when a node is dropped in Hover Object.
    • Template Screen Object properties: Changing the Targets for Parameters that are Hover Object and/or Hover Text doesn't change anything.
    • Template Screen Objects are not working on popup screens.
    • Database Field: #Database# variable does not work properly.
    • Report View: Custom History Report Error when trying to add search strings.
    • Computer->Current is not being evaluated on login.
    • RFID Zone Properties: RFID Receivers not appearing in the Select Tree Item dialog for the Receivers drop box.
  • Driver Specific
    • Harding Driver: Do not allow polling areas to exceed 125 items per polling area.
    • Stentofon Driver: Call Request point not going off when a call is answered.
    • PCSC: Door Constructs - panels are not taking into account the number of actual readers on the panel when creating door constructs via drag and drop.
    • Compass Driver: Unhandled exception with Card - Request Config
  • General
    • Engine: CheckForForward exception: "The given key was not present in the dictionary."

The following issues specific to Intelli-Site Lite have been resolved:
