The network share must be set up with Read/Write privilege, called "Full Control" under Windows XP, because the Workstation not only needs to read files in the share, it may also need to modify a file. An example of this is the History.mdb. This file is used by all Workstations to generate reports. Also, in a redundant system, each Server needs to read, write, and delete files in the sister Server's share.
