Operating Systems No Longer Supported

As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 have reached end-of-life. Microsoft no longer supports these OSes. As such, OSSI no longer supports these operating systems. While our software will continue to install and upgrade on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, we will not provide technical support for these systems for versions beyond Intelli-Site v4.0.45.12.  All customers and integrators are strongly encouraged to migrate to Windows 10 or Windows 2016.

OVERVIEW

This article contains the release notes for Intelli-Site v4.1.7.7.  The following sections describe the release in detail and provide late-breaking or other information that supplements the main documentation.

This is a maintenance release that improves quality, reliability, and performance.  All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this release especially if they previously installed version 4.1.5.12 and are using MAC hardware.

Upgrade Requirements

Because the database has been redesigned, the installer will only upgrade version 4.0.45.12 or later. Minor modifications to the database had been implemented before version 4.0.45.12. Those modifications must be applied to the existing database for the software upgrade to properly upgrade the database.

The process is:

  1. Upgrade to version 4.0.45.12
  2. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. The Engine performs the necessary modifications, not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started.
  3. Stop the Engine and close the Configuration Utility.
  4. Upgrade to the current version.
  5. Open the Configuration Utility and start the Engine. As stated in step 2, the Engine performs the necessary database upgrade not the installer. If there are multiple projects, each project must be started as well.

New Features

The following software features were added:

  • Desktop Client:
    • Action Grids: Fix the Action column's size to give room for larger Target column
    • Allow Edit Screen Objects Property Page to be resizable
    • Design View: Show the selected item highlight, even when it is unfocused
    • Desktop Client: Add Debug Screen Object feature.
      • While in Live View press Ctrl+Alt+F1 then click a screen object to display a debug popup window.
    • Desktop Client: Double the size of the reprogram wizard dialog.
    • MAC Programming Template: Allow the user to keep the template rungs but remove the template.
    • Video Display: Match camera name to existing counter value names when selecting cameras.
    • Add ability to Reprogram a Custom Script
    • Edit Screen Object Properties window title bar should reflect the name the object has been given on its property page

Resolved Issues

The following issues affecting all products have been resolved:

  • Configuration Utility
    • Note: Do not start the Client Manager unless you absolutely need it. Only start it when redundant Engines are required and licensed. The Client Manager counts as a client in the license.
This isn't new. It just bears repeating.
  • Desktop Client
    • Access Management View: Deleting a screen object with a database object, doesn't delete the database object from the screen until a screen refresh is forced.
    • Cannot move panels from one area to another in design view.
    • If a user doesn't have access to a popup queue do not pop it up.
    • MAC Programming Templates: Exception when adding a point to a MAC Programming Template.
    • MAC Programming Templates: Update the Download Ladder flag when a template is used and/or modified

    • On Display, actions do not trigger on login.
    • PCSC IQ Quick Config: Setting door lock to none yields an error message

    • PCSC IQ: SIM panels Quick config error if a DPS is not assigned a door lock.
    • PCSC IQ: Switching board models do not reveal the additional points in the tree.
